Koraput: In one of the biggest anti-narcotics operations in the region, the Koraput Police under the South Western Range (SWR) have busted a massive interstate Hashish Oil manufacturing unit operating deep inside forest terrain along the Odisha–Andhra Pradesh border.
Led by the SP, Koraput, based on precise intelligence inputs and supervised by the DIG, SWR, the high-risk raid was carried out in a jungle area near the Jholaput Reservoir under Padua Police Station limits. Due to the remoteness of the location, inaccessible terrain, and the quick assembly–disassembly nature of the temporary units, police teams approached the site discreetly by boats and then on foot, avoiding road routes to conceal movement.
Massive Seizure
Hashish Oil seized: More than 1,800 litres
Estimated market value: Approximately ₹200 crore
Ganja seized: Over 1,000 kg
Estimated market value: Around ₹5 crore
Several temporary manufacturing unit materials and equipment were also confiscated.
Police officials stated that the masterminds behind the operation have been identified and will be apprehended soon. Preliminary investigation has established interstate links in the production and distribution of the contraband. The raid is still underway, and further operational details are being withheld for strategic reasons.
Separate Operation: Haryana Receivers Nabbed with 1,143 Kg Ganja
In another major and separate crackdown in Koraput district, police arrested four accused persons, including two interstate smugglers from Haryana.
Location: Nandpur Police Station limits
Ganja seized: 1,143 kg
Estimated market value: Approximately ₹5 crore
The contraband was cleverly concealed inside plastic trays and transported in two Mahindra pickup vehicles, both of which have been seized.
Among the arrested, two are local suppliers from Semiliguda in Koraput district, while the other two are receivers from Haryana State. Further investigation is in progress to trace the broader network involved.

These two major operations clearly highlight the intensified and stringent crackdown by Koraput Police against interstate narcotics manufacturing and illegal transportation networks operating along the Odisha–Andhra border.
Strict measures are being taken to uproot the network completely, informed Kanwar Vishal Singh, DIG, South Western Range, Koraput .
