Bikalpa Sangathan Launches Village-to-Village Awareness Campaign for a Healthy and Prosperous Rayagada

With the aim of building a healthy and prosperous society, Bikalpa Sangathan has launched a village-level awareness campaign to sensitize people and encourage community participation in development of Rayagada, Odisha.
Members of the organization said that “villages are the soul of the nation.” If people in villages become aware and proactive, it will lead to the overall development and prosperity of the region. Many talented children and individuals live in rural areas, and it is important to identify and nurture their potential. Keeping this in mind, Bikalpa Sangathan has started visiting villages to spread awareness and encourage people to participate in building educated, healthy and prosperous communities.
Through interactions and discussions with villagers, the organization is trying to guide people on how local issues can be resolved collectively. According to the members, an aware and active community can play a vital role in building a healthy and prosperous society, which in turn will contribute to the development of Rayagada district.
The organization has been conducting awareness programmes once every month. Several distinguished personalities from Rayagada district, including retired college principals, professors, teachers who have received President’s and Governor’s awards, officials from industry and agriculture departments, businessmen and literary figures, have come together to form the organization named Bikalpa.With the slogan “Our Soil, Our Resolve,” the organization aims to work in areas such as education, literacy, women’s empowerment, skill development, prevention of child marriage and creating health awareness among rural communities.

Members are voluntarily contributing their efforts to bring positive change and build a prosperous Rayagada.
Recently, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, a special programme titled “Mu Bi Kam Nuhen” (I Am Not Less Than Anyone ) was organized at Japakhal village under Rayagada block, where around More than 100 women participated. The event also saw the presence of several men and students from the village.
Addressing the gathering, the president of the organization Dr. Dushmanta Kumar Mohanty spoke about the significance of International Women’s Day and highlighted the important role women play in building a healthy, prosperous and beautiful society.
Senior member Kumud Kanta Samantaray coordinated the programme. Member and lecturer Sanjukta Pangi addressed the women in the Kui language, speaking about daily life practices, health care and the importance of education.
Other members including Dr. Archana Pattnaik, Krishna Priya Sahani, Shashibhushan Pattnaik, Bira Babu, Gouri Shankar Rao, Raghunath Bhoi, Satish Kumar and Romya Ranjan Sahu also shared their views and encouraged women to become educated and self-reliant.
As a mark of respect, the organization distributed sarees to all the women who attended the programme.

The secretary of the organization and retired ideal teacher Jagadish Chandra Dora also organized a creative activity titled “Asa Ame Ranga Deba” (Let Us Paint) for children, and prizes were awarded to five children for their outstanding performance.
At the end of the programme, sweets were distributed among students and villagers. With the cooperation of the local residents, the event was conducted successfully.
