In a landmark achievement for Indian Railways, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has successfully loaded 250 Million Tonnes (MT) of originating freight in just 324 days of the current financial year, becoming the first railway zone in the country to cross this prestigious milestone.The zone accomplished this feat 31 days earlier compared to the previous financial year (2024–25), registering a strong 10.6% growth over last year’s freight loading performance.This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication and coordinated efforts of railway officials and staff, improved operational efficiency, strengthened industry partnerships, and optimized freight management systems.Bulk commodities including coal, iron ore, steel, cement, and other essential goods played a crucial role in reaching this historic mark. The performance further consolidates ECoR’s position as one of the leading freight-loading zones under Indian Railways.The milestone highlights the vital role of East Coast Railway in driving industrial growth and contributing significantly to the nation’s economic development.
